The LiteSteelBeam was developed in response to demand for a light structural beam with the strength of steel and the ease-of-use afforded by wood. More than six years of research and development went into the creation of the current LSB shape followed by extensive testing and certification.

The innovative cold forming manufacturing process gives LSB a unique profile with a flat, thin web and two hollow flanges. It is made from a single strip of high quality steel using patented simultaneous dual electric resistance welding technology. This process provides maximum structural performance in terms of load carrying capacity, bending moment and deflection from the amount of steel employed. The unique profile gives the torsional rigidity you would normally expect from hot rolled steel sections.
